I currently head up the Tisski (a Node 4 company) F&O practice in role as F&O practice lead. However, I originally started my career within finance as an accountant.
Following the completion of my Accounting and Finance Studies at university I moved into the public sector to train as an auditor and begin my professional accountancy certification. Although not considered the most exciting of roles it granted me the exposure to understand some of the key finance and governance controls within business, especially those pertinent to the public sector. Following a decision to relocate back to my home town I was granted the opportunity to further my professional studies and broaden by business experience by securing a finance role within Victrex, a FTSE 250 global manufacturing company. While working with central finance I secured my Chartered Certified accountancy qualification and gained experience of UK and Global financial accounting and controls.
My move/trip (or push for those who knew me at the time) into IT and software solutions happened during my Victrex career. I worked as a finance workstream lead as part of an IT transformation project that implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 within the UK, America, Europe, Japan and China. Following the successful project implementation, I moved into a business architect role to head up the ongoing continuous improvement of the ERPEnterprise Resource Planning software is used by businesses to manage day-to-day activities. platform.
Acting as the architect and leading on project implementations sparked a need to provide solutions which I wasn’t able to address so I moved into a consultancy role within KPMG. Although starting as a finance consultant, I rapidly progressed and became lead consultant with 12 months. This was where my personal and professional affiliation with Mike Pearsall began.
Having built up a number of connections I was approached by Tisski, following a recommendation, to lead on the creation and growth of an F&O Practice. It was an opportunity which I couldn’t turn down so jumped at the chance and have never looked back.
Since Jason Newbatt joined, we have worked extremely closely allowing us to build a strong personal and professional connection.
During my personal time I enjoy doing DIY, running, gaming, play fighting with my son, losing arguments with my daughter, and spending family time with my wife, our children and dog.
